About the Author
Scott Patchin’s sense of humor about life started somewhere between his first practical joke (plastic spider in the refrigerator—sorry Mom) and his third year at Michigan Tech University, where he was studying to become an engineer, of all things. His journey into teaching and helping others reach their goals began almost two decades ago when he first started leading a group of high school students in a Junior Achievement program. Since that first moment, he has been working to make this passion a career. Through his roles as a corporate trainer, career coach, business executive, and author, Scott has touched many people with his passion for teaching and developing others.
In the middle of his journey to teaching he became a father, and it was his sense of humor and commitment to learning that carried him through those first few years of fatherhood. Helping others to gain the wisdom and perspective that a new father needs is an extension of his own personal mission, which is “to be a guide for others so they realize the excellence they were born to achieve.” So You’re Gonna Be A Dad—Now What? is his first book in a series called the Moments Series for Fathers, developed to help fathers make the most of the moments they are given, and to encourage them to create some on their own.
Scott lives with his wife, Jenny, and their four children in Michigan. When he is not being a husband, father, or friend, he is enjoying the outdoors through running, fishing, kayaking, or tending to his vegetable garden. Scott is and eternal optimist and looks for opportunities to encourage others to meet lifes challenges with a smile and a purpose. What purpose you ask? If you cannot fill in the blank contact Scott directly and he would welcome that conversation.
